Northern Arizona Watercolor Society
As I mentioned in my last post, I was honored to have two of my paintings (Along Oak Creek Canyon and Alaskan Lynx) juried into the Northern Arizona Watercolor Society’s Experimental Water Media Exhibition in beautiful Sedona, Arizona. The show is currently running through November 17 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily at the Sedona Special Exhibition Gallery, 15 Art Barn Rd., Sedona, AZ, (928) 282-3809…located just behind the Sedona Art Center.
A Special Artist’s Reception and Awards Presentation was held Saturday, November 7 and was attended by a large turnout of Sedona area art patrons. The exhibit awards were judged and presented by Raleigh Kinney, a nationally recognized watercolor artist and instructor.
As with many exhibits, the “Best of Show” award is generally announced as the final recognition, and I was very excited when I heard my name announced! My painting Along Oak Creek Canyon received the “Best of Show” award. The prizes included a substantial monetary award, a subscription to Watercolor Artist magazine, a certificate and a beautiful handmade award plaque.
The following photographs are a few from the awards presentation and a couple of Sedona landscapes just to give you a feeling for what a beautiful setting this exhibit enjoyed. Click on any of the thumbnails to display the photographs in a larger format.
