International Guild of Realism

My paintings strive to reach a level of realism that show the viewer the details of an animal’s fur, or a bird’s feathers, or the exquisite detail of a flower’s petals. One of the premier associations of artists who share that approach to their work is the International Guild of Realism.

According to their web site, the Guild was “founded by a group of leading professional realism artists from around the globe in 2002 with four goals:

  • “Recognizing the best realists working today
  • “Creating exhibition opportunities
  • “Providing technical and promotional support
  • “To offer a bridge between art collectors and the highest quality realist art, created by our members”

Last week, I learned I have been juried into this prestigious group of international artists based on a review of six of my paintings. It is truly an overwhelming honor to be included in this prominent guild of over 310 artists from 35 countries.

The Guild’s 8th Annual Juried Exhibition will be held from October 4th – November 30th, 2013 at the TempeCenter for the Arts in Tempe, Arizona. These highly anticipated exhibitions have been held previously in Carmel, California; Santa Fe, New Mexico; Palm Desert, California; Naples, Florida; Scottsdale, Arizona; and Dallas, Texas.

And, just as a teaser for an upcoming blog post, this was the first of three exciting happenings that occurred last week!
